The Jha District Administration Office has not lifted the indefinite curfew order in Birtamod town that was clamped on Friday to control demonstrations by locals.

On Friday, a child was killed when police opened fire to contain the mob. Locals had staged demonstration demanding investigations into an alleged murder.

Laxman Shiwakoti from Tinpaini, Arjundhara-11 was found dead in a puddle on the day of Badadashain Tika, September 30. The family had claimed he was murdered.

After locals intensified the demonstration demanding the probe on Friday, the administration clamped the curfew in the central market area of the town around Muktichok.

Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari says the situation is improving, but the administration is yet to withdraw the curfew order.

All trade and business companies, academic institutions and shops are shut in the town for last three days.
