CPN-UML tells Nepal PM to mind his words, accuses government, UDMF of plotting against elections

Kathmandu, February 1

CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has asked Prime Minister Prachanda to keep his tongue in check.

Oli, speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday to inform about the UML’s Madhesh-centric campaign, accused PM of pressing Young Communist League affiliated to the CPN-Maoist Centre to rise against patriots.

He said: I can’t challenge PM to come fight us, but he should exercise restraint while speaking. We have only told the YCL not to resort to looting for the sake of living, but PM is instigating it to rise against its opponents.

Oli charged that the Prachanda government does not want to conduct elections. He accused the Nepali Congress, the Maoist party and Madhesh-centric parties of conspiring against elections. “They are hand in glove in this design, and they are putting up a show.”

United Democratic Madheshi Front (Madheshi Morcha) is pressing the government to not announce the date for elections, Oli cliamed, adding that the Morcha has threatened to rally external force against it if the government announces poll date.
