CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal says the government will put the constitution amendment bill to vote only if the agitating Rastriya Janata Party Nepal wants it.

Speaking with journalists in Janakpurdham of Dhanusha today, the leader of ruling coalition member said there would not be any point in putting the bill to vote if the RJPN was not convinced with the bill.

Meanwhile, Dahal also informed that local level elections in Province 2 scheduled for September 18 would not be deferred at any condition, even if the RJPN chose to boycott them.

He, however, expressed his hope that the Madhesh-centric party would take part in the polls.

The former prime minister said he would take initiatives to elevate Janakpur to the status of a metropolitan city and develop Janakpur Airport as an international airport.
