Committed to combating weaknesses inside Nepal Police, says IGP

Nepal Police Inspector General Sarbendra Khanal says he is committed to combating weaknesses persisting inside his organisation.

Khanal says he will make the police organisation free of those weaknesses within his term.

Inaugurating a road safety campaign in Jhapa district of eastern Nepal on Thursday, Khanal said, “There are many weaknesses in the police organisation. There are many bad practices. I am committed to stopping them.”

He also directed police officials and personnel to main peace and security in the society and serve public while encountering all forms of challenges efficiently.

“Devote yourself to the service of citizens by maintaining zero tolerance against corruption,” he instructed, “Act tough against severe criminal cases and their perpetrators.”

He was of the view that police personnel should use modern technologies in order to combat new forms of crime emerging in the society.
