Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut has blamed the federal government’s interference and teachers for the poor performance of government schools.

In a meeting held by the Provincial Planning Commission to discuss the state of government education, Raut said that one of the reasons that government and public schools did not develop was political interference.

“The teachers are more focused on politics and political leaders. If the teachers don’t focus on giving the students good education, how can government education develops,” said CM Raut.

Raut said he was shocked that qualified and capable teachers were not able to improve the education level in public schools. He further added that until the teachers worked with good intention and honesty, public education would never develop.

He also accused the federal government of introducing ‘wrong’ educational policies.

The Chief Minister added that he was willing to work for development of the province utilising rights given by the constitution.
