Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration

Kathmandu, January 15

A total of 59,798 government employees have opted to participate in the government scheme to assign new workstations to civil servants in different tires of government.

The government, on December 28, had asked all government employees willing to participate in the scheme by filling an online form. The deadline to fill the form is Wednesday after which the government will start to reassign employees.

Under-Secretary of Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Keshar Pandit informed Onlinekhabar that as of January 15, 59,798 employees have filled the online form and over 14,000 were in the process of doing so. “Looking at things, we will have around 73,041 employees will take part in this scheme,” he said.

He also added that the deadline to submit the forms will not be extended. “The civil servants can choose where they want to be posted and government will take that into consideration when the readjustment process begins in the future,” continued Pandit.

“If around 73,000 employees fill the form, that would mean around 88 per cent have agreed to take part in the re-adjustment process,” adds the ministry’s spokesperson, Suresh Adhikari.
