Kathmandu, April 2

Nepal’s anti-corruption constitutional body, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, says it will establish a civil engineering laboratory in its office in order to probe irregularities reported in various infrastructural development projects.

CIAA spokesperson Dirgharaj Mainali says the decision was made after the number of reports about irregularities in construction of roads, bridges and buildings is increasing steadily.

Likewise, other technologies will also be installed at the lab, according to him.

Mainali claims officials committing irregularities in such projects cannot skip consequences.

The Commission is planning to investigate the quality of Halesi-Khotang road section of Mid-Hill Highway.
