Chinese Vice-Premier Wang returns home

Kathmandu, August 17

Vice-Premier of the State Council of People’s Republic of China, Wang Yang, returned home today after wrapping up his four-day official visit to Nepal. He left for Beijing on a special aircraft.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara was at the Tribhuvan International Airport to see off the special guest from the neighbouring country.

Likewise, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev, Nepal’s Ambassador to China Leelamani Paudyal, Secretary at the Foreign Ministry Shanker Das Bairagi, China’s Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy here had reached the TIA to bid farewell to the Chinese Vice-Premier.

During his stay in Nepal, Wang had separately called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Likewise, he had held bilateral talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachhadar and his delegation and inaugurated the renovation of the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square-based historic Nautale Durbar (nine-storey palace).

The renovation is taking place with the financial assistance from the Government of China.
