Kathmandu, November 15
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday arrested the Director General of Department of Foreign Employment, Bishwaraj Pandey, on the charge of receiving bribe.
Earlier, the anti-corruption constitutional body had arrested the Department’s Section Officer Kriti Ballav Paudel and Nayab Subba Khadga Bahadur KC. Based on their statements, the Commission suspected Pandey’s involved in the transaction of Rs 1 million bribe, according to a source.
Paudel and KC were arrested the Indreni Foodland of Naya Baneshwor at 8 pm yesterday.
Investigations have revealed that the trio had demanded the kickback from a service seeker assuring that they would help the person win a case at the Foreign Employment Tribunal.
Pandey was due to retire next week.
