Kathmandu, September 11
The Election Commission has said the government breached the code of conduct which has been in place ahead of the third round of local elections by expanding the Cabinet just a few days ahead of polling.
In a statement, the commission has drawn the attention of the government saying that the move has a bearing on the impartiality of the election. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, on Sunday, inducted three ministers and a minister of state to his Cabinet, a move the opposition has severely criticised.
The commission has urged the government to revoke the decision.
