Kathmandu, November 20
An ambulance hit a scooter, on which three persons were riding, killing all of them on the spot, in Itahari of Sunsari district on Sunday night.
The ambulance (Ko 1 Cha 7009) hit the two-wheeler (Ko 23 Pa 467) at the local Halgaada Chok at around 11 pm yesterday.
The District Police Office says the scooter rider Dok Bahadur Karki and pillion riders Nirmal Gautam and Sarita Kafle died.
Their bodies have been kept at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for autopsy.
Police say they have detained ambulance driver Sunil Khadka and confiscated the vehicle for further investigation.
