Airee to captain Nepal’s U-19 cricket team for Asia Cup Qualifier

Kathmandu, August 27

Dipendra Singh Airee has replaced Sandeep Lamichhane as the captain of Nepal’s U-19 cricket team as the squad for upcoming ACC Asia Cup Qualifier (East region) has been announced on Sunday.

Lamichhane, however, is still in the squad comprising 14 regular and four extra players. The team was finalised by Nepal’s senior team coach Jagat Tamata and U-19 team coach Binod Das.

Other members of the team include Asif Shekh, Sandeep Sunar, Pranit Thapa Magar, Anil Kumar Sah, Pawan Sarraf, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Kishor Mahato, Shahab Alam, Nandan Yadav, Bikram Kumar Bhusal, Sandeep Jora and Sumit Maharjan.

Kamal Singh Airee, Lalit Rajbanshi, Prakash KC and Rijan Dhakal have been made extra players.

The squad will leave for Malaysia on September 8.

Nepal have been placed in Group A of the qualifier that comprises Singapore, Thailand and Bhutan. The winning team will qualify for the U-19 Asia Cup.
