Kathmandu, August 11

Rastriya Janata Party Nepal top leaders are holding a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba this morning to demand that the government put the constitution amendment bill to vote at the earliest.

The RJPN leaders had decided to press for early voting on the amendment after they held a meeting with Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj yesterday.

An RJPN source says the leaders had discussed contemporary political issues including the amendment and third phase of local level elections in Province 2 scheduled for September 18 with Swaraj.

Swaraj had shared with the leaders that PM Deuba told her that he would take initiatives to ensure the amendment of constitution after his India visit scheduled for August 23-27.
