Birgunj, April 19

Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel says the government will implement a new law on education within next five months to ensure that every child gets an opportunity to attend school.

After the implementation of law, parents and guardians are legally obliged to send their kids to school, according to him.

Taking the responsibility of shouldering one student’s education costs, as he announced earlier, amidst a function at a school in Birgunj of Parsa district today, Minister Pokharel also claimed the law would ensure not only that children get admitted to schools, but also they do not drop out.

“Then, I will form a commission to introduce a new education policy,” he said, “We have also taken initiative to complete the estimation of necessary human resources like doctors, engineers and managers in the country.”

“We will effect fundamental changes in the sector.”
