Accounts of 350 Khotang schools frozen, teachers denied salary for three months

Khotang, February 6

Khotang district education office has frozen the accounts of 350 schools operating in the district. It has frozen the accounts of those schools, which have not formed school management committees, conducted social auditing and have not cleared arrears.

District education officer Gyan Mani Nepal said his office will lift the ban once schools mend their ways. Schools in the district are operating in a very careless way, Nepal said, adding: We have frozen their accounts to make sure that they operate as per the law.

Because of this action, teachers working in these schools have not got their salary for past three months. There are 490 primary, lower secondary and secondary schools in the district.
