Winter session of Parliament: Committee decides to present medical education bill during first meeting

 

Kathmandu, November 18

Parliament’s Education and Health Committee has decided to present the Medical Education Bill before the first plenary session of the House after’s winter session.

A meeting of the committee, which has already held several rounds of discussions with stakehplders, also decided to start detailed duscussion on the bill from next week.

“We have agreed to present the bill before the House during the first meeting under the winter session,” said former health minister Gagan Thapa. Parliament’s winter session is expected to start on January 15. Thapa said that he has demanded that government representatives be summoned to the meeting as the bill was prepared by the government and it was the government that reached an agreement with medical education activist Govinda KC on the provisions of the draft law.
