SAFF 2018: Nepal lose opening match to Pakistan

Nepal has lost its opening match against Pakistan in SAFF Championship being played in Dhaka.

Although Pakistan took the lead in the 34th minute of the match, Nepal equalised in the 82nd minute and the match was expected to end in a draw. However, Pakistan’s Mohammed Ali scored a second goal for his team in the dying moments of the match to seal its victory.

Nepal looked to dominate Pakistan from early on Nepali midfielders occupied possession. But it was Pakistan’s Hasan Navid who scored the first goal of the match off a penalty. Nepal’s Bimal Ghartimagar scored the maiden goal for his side.

Nepal now play Bhutan on September 6.
