Kathmandu, January 9
A lawyer for medical reform education activist Dr Govinda KC says the hearing undergoing at the Supreme Court about a contempt of court charge filed against the veteran orthopaedic surgeon has been postponed for Wednesday.
It means Dr KC will stay at a police custody tonight as well.
Advocate Om Prakash Aryal says the division bench of justices Om Prakash Mishra and Kedar Prasad Chalise has postponed the hearing for tomorrow after recording statements from Dr KC.
Police had arrested Dr KC from the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, where he had launched a fast-unto-death demanding Chief Justicre Gopal Parajuli’s resignation, last night.
During the hearing today, Dr KC had reiterated that he did not commit the contempt, but Chief Justice Parajuli did.
