Nepali Congress accused of attempting booth capture in Bhaktapur

Kathmandu, December 7

Cadres of CPN-UML and Nepali Congress clashed after some Congress cadres reportedly tried to capture a booth in Bhaktapur Constituency 2 on Thursday.

Two persons including UML-aligned Youth Association’s central member Roshan Basnet sustained injuries. The other victim is yet to be identified. They are undergoing treatment at the Bhaktapur-based Nagarik Hospital.

UML cadres say the clash ensued as Congress cadre Ravi Rana held identity cards of some voters under control for booth capturing. The Congress, however, has said the UML cadres vandalised houses of some Congress cadres.
