Leftist cadres held for allegedly distributing cash to Parsa voters

Parsa, December 6

Police arrested three persons in possession of Rs 300,000 cash in Pokhariya Municipality-3 of Parsa district.

Ashok Rauniyar, Basu Prasad and Brijesh Patel are said to be cadres of the leftist alliance who were allegedly distributing the cash to local voters during the period of silence period. Police, however, have not revealed their names.

Police also seized 2,000 sample ballot papers which had the CPN-UML’s election symbol stamped, the Pokhariya Area Police Post says.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
