Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav says security threats to political parties, candidates and voters are on the rise in the run-up to provincial and federal parliamentary polls.
Yadav, therefore, calls them to stay alert and protect themselves from any kind of threat.
Yadav’s statement comes after attacks on candidates have been reported from various parts of the country.
Speaking at a function in Dhulikhel of Kavre today, Yadav said no one should rely on security personnel only.
Meanwhile, Yadav commented that it was shameful for government staff and teachers to get affiliated with a particular party and participate in their electioneering. He urged them to stop such activities.
