Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav says the Election Commission may postpone voting if some parties are obstructed from electioneering in any part of Province 2 that will hold local level elections on September 18.
Yadav’s statement comes a day after CPN-UML was obstructed from holding a mass meeting in Janakpur of Dhanusha district yesterday allegedly by Rastriya Janata Party Nepal cadres.
In an conversation with Onlinekhabar, Yadav has said the constitutional body has already drew the attention of government as well as top leaders the RJPN over to the issue.
“We have taken this incident very seriously and launched an investigation.”
He warns that the Commission can scrap candidacy if the candidates are found involved in such obstructions.
