16 gamblers held in Kathmandu with Rs 26 lakh, gold jewellery

Even before the start of Tihar festival, gambling appears to be going on in full swing, in Kathmandu.

On Monday night, police arrested 16 people, including two women, from Room Number 105 of Om Ganapati Hotel, where they were gambling away their fortunes. A team from Kamalpokhari police circle arrested the 16 gamblers at 11.30 pm with sets of playing cards, Rs 26 lakh and gold jewellery.

Police are further investigating the case as the arrestees appear to be professional gamblers.
