11-year-old boy abducted from Kathmandu; kidnappers demand millions for ransom

Kathmandu, August 6

Police in Kathmandu say that locals in Kandaghari on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu has reported that an 11-year-old child has been abducted from the locality on Sunday evening.

The victim’s family says the suspected kidnappers demanded ‘millions of rupees’ for the ransom to release the boy.

Nishan Khadka, the son of local Chameli Khadka, is missing since last night.

Meanwhile, police officials from Kathmandu and Bhaktapur district have jointly launched an investigation as the area is adjacent to Bhaktapur district.

SSP Bishwa Raj Pokharel of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range and SP Himalaya Shrestha of the Bhaktapur Metropolitan Police Range have gone to the incident site for further investigation.
